REEL TURN-UP OPTIMIZATION

The goal of this program is to improve the productive efficiency of the paper machine by minimizing waste due to oversized jumbos to the winder.

This tool predicts the diameter of the jumbo by optimizing the length of paper in the jumbo based on the operating specifications of the winder. The program gives a choice for a basic optimization (Choice 1-no slab allowance) or an advanced optimization by inputting reel and winder slab information (Choice 2). The length of paper in the jumbo can be "fine tuned" based on operating experience using the "length adjustment feature" in the program. (Choice 1A and 2A). Full instructions are included with the program.
